How qualification works in Vermont
Vermont has a statewide standard specifically designated for LEOSA purposes. The Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council's Rule 13 back-up/off-duty handgun course — 25 rounds fired at ranges from 3 to 15 yards, minimum 20 of 25 hits (80%), administered by a VCJTC-certified firearms instructor — is explicitly described in the Council's own training handout as "a 'State handgun qualification course' for qualifying retired law enforcement individuals under the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act." Confirmed directly from the VCJTC's own published course document and LEOSA handout.
