How qualification works in Delaware

Delaware has a statewide standard administered through the Delaware State Police Professional Licensing Section. Retired officers must submit a "State of Delaware Retired Police Officer Concealed Weapons Qualification Notification" from a firearms instructor certified by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST, formerly COPT), indicating a score of 80% or better on the Standard Off-Duty Qualification Course. Confirmed directly from DSP's own published LEOSA Advisory (07/30/2024). Upon qualifying, DSP issues a Retired Trooper LEOSA Certification ID Card, valid for one year, expiring on the last day of the month of qualification.
